
Shuman Takes Third Place in High Jump at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA – Junior Elizabeth Shuman finished third in the women’s high jump, as the NC State track & field team concluded day-two action at the 119th Penn Relays Friday afternoon.
Shuman, a junior from Timonium, Md., cleared a height of 5’ 10.75” (1.80m) in the vertical jumping event, matching both her season and personal-best marks. The 2013 All-ACC honoree recorded the same mark at the Raleigh Relays on Mar. 29 – her first appearance this season.
Senior Karimah Shepherd, who took fourth place in the women’s long jump just one day prior, recorded a sixth-place showing in the triple jump during Friday’s competition. The Chesapeake, Va., native notched a 40’ 8.75” (12.41m) measurement, and matched her second-best performance in the event this season.
The Wolfpack will return to action for the final day of the Penn Relays on Saturday, April 27.
