The Wolfpack, who is making its 16th appearance in the NCAA Finals, moved up one spot in the field of 30 teams after the first two of three stroke-play rounds. The field will be cut down to eight teams after 54 holes and will compete in a three-day match play format that will settle who wins the national title.
NC State owns a 36-hole team score of 42-over 618 after rounds of 22-over 310 and 20-over 308 over the last two days of competition.
Sophomore Mitchell Sutton and freshman Albin Choi are tied for 78th to lead the Pack. Sutton fired a second-consecutive 4-over 76, while Choi finished at 2-over 74, the best round so far for the Wolfpack at the championship.
