
NC State Volleyball Falls To Butler

RALEIGH, N.C. - Allison Cox had 15 kills and 12 digs to lead Butler to a three-game victory over NC State in college volleyball action Monday afternoon at Butler's Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Butler, which won by scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 30-22, improved to 4-0 on the season. NC State, which took second place over the weekend at the Indiana University-Purdue University (IUPUI) Tournament, fell to 2-2 with the loss.
Seniors Charece Williams and Alison Kreager led the Wolfpack. Williams had 11 kills, six digs and a .348 attacking percentage, her second match in a row above the .300 mark. Kreager had a team-high 12 kills, a .286 percentage, and four blocks.
Freshman Melanie Rowe continued her standout play with 11 kills and 12 digs, while sophomore Caroline Frede had 11 digs and a pair of service aces.
NC State will return to action on Friday and Saturday, September 7-8, at Reynolds Coliseum in the Outback Wolfpack Classic, which will feature two matches on Friday afternoon and evening, and four more on Saturday.
Action begins on Friday at 4 p.m. when Campbell takes on High Point. NC State and Marshall will follow at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Marshall will play Campbell at 11 a.m., followed by NC State vs. High Point at 2 p.m., Marshall vs. High Point at 4:30 p.m., and NC State vs. Campbell at 7 p.m.
