General Information
- Native of Alexandria, Ind.
- Arrived in fall of 1946 with Everett Case, straight from Iowa Pre-Flight Training School, where he played during WWII.
- Introduced the running one-handed jumpshot to Southern basketball.
- First NC State player ever taken in the NBA draft, Dickey was selected by the Baltimore Bullets in 1960.
- Helped former roommate Norm Sloan recruit players during the 1960s and `70s.
- Born: Oct. 26, 1926 in Rigdon, Ind.; Died: July 3, 2006.
